Acupressure is a non-invasive, hands-on, ancient healing art that stimulates the body's natural self-curative
abilities by applying pressure to specific areas. When these trigger points are pressed, a variety of things happen. Acupressure
helps release muscular tension, helps promote circulation of blood, and encourages the increase of the body's life force energy
- all of which aids the healing process.
Acupressure is known as needle-less acupuncture and
the same points and meridians are used in both. Scientific proof shows us that there is no difference between using needles
or digits to achieve the same results. For many, the gentle to firm pressure used in acupressure is preferable.
While it is most often used on humans, it has also proved to be extremely effective on animals. Acupressure can be
used along with conventional medications and treatments, or on its own.
Acupressure is NOT a substitute for veterinary
care. If you are concerned about the wellbeing of your pet, seek advice immediately.
